« Le mouvement ne suit pas forcément le métronome mais il modèle et sculpte le temps comme une œuvre d’art ». L’observation piquée à Alwin Nikolais pourrait bien tendre le fil qui tresse ensemble les quelque 22 spectacles de June Events. La 5e édition dévoile en effet les multiples facettes des rapports entre danse et musique en scène. Le lien s’impose d’évidence avec le compositeur Thierry De Mey, complice en particulier d’Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, qui propose une soirée unique, où les séquences dansées font écho à l’installation vidéo From Inside, avec Cynthia Loemij et Mark Lorimer. Dans la mouvance de la compagnie Rosas, Thomas Hauert construit Accords sur la notion d’unisson improvisée, qui se noue dans un jeu complexe d’actions et réactions individuelles. En duo avec le percussionniste Michel Debrulle dans Drum & dance, il explore les résonances entre sons et mouvements, qui s’accomplissent sur les Sonates et interludes pour piano préparé de John Cage dans le solo Prepared play by ear qu’il a écrit pour Mat Voorter.
Sons et mouvements
Chez Alban Richard, la relation à la musique fonde aussi l’écriture de Lointain, sur la partition de Tristan et Yseult de Wagner, et de Chamber dance sur les compositions électroniques de Laurent Perrier. De même chez Samuel Lefeuvre, qui, dans Accidens (ce qui arrive), fait vibrer par sa gestuelle tourmentée les ondes magnétiques venues des platines inspirées de Raphaëlle Latini, ou chez Carolyn Carlson, qui, dans Immersion, se laisse submerger par le ressac des vagues pour faire surgir le mouvement aquatique dans sa métamorphose infinie. Ou encore chez Rosalind Crisp, artiste associée à l’Atelier de Paris, qui collabore avec les musiciens du groupe Los Dos pour La Belle et la bête. Dirigé par la chorégraphe Carolyn Carlson, June Events rassemble ainsi 16 compagnies et une centaine d’artistes pour cinq jours d’intenses découvertes.
