Nous avions découvert cette remuante compagnie en 2014 avec Sefarad’s, spectacle-installation imaginé et interprété par la soprano Gaëlle Méchaly sur une musique de Thierry Pecou. On la retrouve trois ans plus tard pour la création d’une nouvelle proposition des plus singulières : K ø u p l e s. Le metteur en scène franco-suisse-autrichien Stephan Grögler rassemble dans un collage sophistiqué et coloré, où les images (décors, costumes et vidéo) jouent un rôle essentiel, trois courts ouvrages en un acte mettant en jeu le couple, formant selon ses termes une « trilogie conjugale lyrique et loufoque sur les aléas et l’érosion du il-et-elle soumis à une société consumériste envahissante » : Le Téléphone (1947) de Gian Carlo Menotti, Aller-Retour de Paul Hindemith (1927) et Le Secret de Suzanne d’Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari (1909). Alexandros Markeas a composé les interludes pop-art permettant de passer d’un ouvrage à l’autre, dans un spectacle baignant dans un univers visuel très années 70, inspiré par la Space Age Fashion de Pierre Cardin, André Courrèges ou Paco Rabane. Avec Ronan Debois (baryton), Gaëlle Méchaly (soprano) et Nicolas Farine (direction musicale et piano).
