« Kaiju », en japonais, désigne les monstres géants qui, dans certains films, ravagent tout ce qu’ils touchent. Inspirée des mangas, la nouvelle création de la compagnie Shonen se fonde en effet sur les imaginaires qui nous sont proposés par la multitude de signes et d’informations qui caractérise notre société. Mais, transcendées par les possibilités offertes par la détection infrarouge et la manipulation vidéo, magnifiées par une écriture d’ombres et de lumières, ces images deviennent un voyage psychanalytique et fantastique. Sur scène, un seul danseur, mais prolongé, augmenté, à la fois projeté et surface de projection. Son énergie hip-hop se mâtine d’autres qualités, de flux opaques, d’états de corps contradictoires : le statut des images, effrayantes et fascinantes, se révèle ici dans toute son ambiguïté.
