Une femme tombe amoureuse et enceinte d’un migrant, qui soudain disparaît. Ce pourrait être le pitch d’un récit au réalisme social appuyé mais Marie-Charlotte Biais en a décidé tout autrement. Fête du langage et du corps, Karnaval vise le renversement cul par-dessus tête des valeurs qui structurent notre société. Et plus particulièrement de l’anthropocentrisme blanc. Afin de laisser parler le corps, de mettre à bas les structures mentales qui construisent nos représentations, le spectacle recherche dans la lignée des carnavals « la transe poétique » à travers « un organisme narratif accouchant de mille rêves éveillés gesticulant la fureur de dire ce que c’est d’être vivant ». Par un retour à l’horizontalité dans le rapport à la Nature et un personnage qui épluche ses costumes et ainsi ses « personnages-figures », Karnaval invite à basculer dans le fantastique d’un « rituel de dépouillement ».
