CHATELET / SPECTACLE MUSICAL ET CHOREGRAPHIQUE
Décidément remuantes et repoussant toujours plus loin les limites de leur vision du métier de musicienne, Katia et Marielle Labèque réunissent au cours du même concert une transcription de West Side Story de Leonard Bernstein dans une version pour deux pianos et percussions d’Irwin Kostal, et un spectacle chorégraphique : Star-Cross’d Lovers de David Chalmin dans une chorégraphie de Yaman Okur pour sept danseurs. « Nous connaissons Yaman Okur depuis des années. Il a fait entre autres de nombreuses chorégraphies pour Madonna et nous souhaitions travailler ensemble. Sur une musique que David Chalmin a composé pour cette occasion, Star-Cross’d Lovers, Yaman a travaillé avec six breakdancers et une danseuse contemporaine afin de raconter cette histoire d’amour d’une manière actuelle et inattendue » confient les pianistes. Avec les percussionnistes Raphael Séguinier et Gonzalo Grau, et le guitariste électrique et électronique David Chalmin. Un spectacle aperçu il y a un an à la Philharmonie de Paris, qui entame ce soir une tournée mondiale.
