STUDIO DE L’ERMITAGE / JAZZ
Musicien-caméléon et brillant guitariste, Khalil Chahine a parcouru toute les musiques, de Martial Solal à Diane Dufresne en passant par la composition pour l’image, dont une création ciné-concert au Musée du Louvre en 2012 pour le film d’animation « Les aventures du Prince Ahmed », réalisé en 1926. Sa carrière se déploie aussi naturellement autour de projets en leader à l’image de ce nouvel album « Kafé Groppi », enregistré avec André Ceccarelli (batterie), Kevin Reveyrand (basse), Christophe Cravero (piano) et Eric Seva (saxophones), rendant hommage à ses souvenirs d’enfance. Au cœur du Kafé Groppi, qu’il aime à décrire comme un « lieu très ancien situé dans la ville du Caire, un lieu de rencontres cosmopolites, lieu de l’éphémère et du futile, de la légèreté et du paraître où, comme l’écrit Tristan Klingsor, les lettrés se querellent sur la poésie et sur la beauté ». Un voyage nostalgique et sensible.
