Depuis le milieu des années 80, les belges Nicole Mossoux et Patrick Bonté ont toujours poursuivi leur démarche de créateurs autour d’un univers fantasmagorique, onirique, fait d’images et de tableaux vivants. Khoom invite sur le plateau trois danseuses, une chanteuse, six musiciens et l’œuvre de Giacinto Scelsi. Dans leur tailleur sombre et strict, les danseuses se présentent tout d’abord harnachées et suspendues à des câbles, offrant à cette verticalité contrariée l’étrangeté de leurs postures. Au fur et à mesure de la montée en puissance de la musique, leurs évolutions vont dessiner dans l’espace tridimensionnel de grandes volutes, des traversées lyriques, des courses effrénées… Dans cette pièce, les chorégraphes ont construit le corps et son mouvement sur la technique de la danse voltige comme pour mieux balayer l’espace. Mais il en faut parfois plus pour décoller, malgré les apparences et la prégnance de la musique.
