Ravagé par la zaïrianisation forcée sous le régime de Mobutu, les guerres et la pauvreté, le Congo-Kinshasa offre le visage balafré d’un pays tiraillé entre les morsures de l’histoire et la vitalité du présent. En trois jours, la Maison de la musique de Nanterre invite à découvrir la réalité contrastée de sa capitale Kinshasa, à travers des films, des rencontres, un spectacle et un concert. Kinshasa, une ville en mouvement, film de Thierry de Mey, suit ainsi le parcours de deux enfants-soldats à peine démobilisés, dévoilant l’énergie et le drame de cette mégalopole vibrante. A ces témoignages fait échos Congo my body, spectacle signé Djodjo Kazidi avec Serge Amisi et Yaoundé Mulamba qui, par la puissance de la danse et l’imaginaire des marionnettes, évoquent leur destin broyé par la guerre au début des années 1990, lorsqu’ils furent enrôlés de force. Au programme également, le concert de Staff Benda Bilili, bande de musiciens paraplégiques en fauteuil roulants customisés façon Mad Max qui sillonnent Kinshasa : leur formidable audace redonne le sourire à l’avenir…
