Kiss & Cry creuse un langage chorégraphique contraint, puisqu’il met en jeu une partie du corps : la main. Un pari fou, qui consiste à mêler la danse au cinéma filmé en direct, dans un monde rétréci. Cette aventure a pu s’écrire grâce aux contributions de plusieurs artistes. C’est le cinéaste Jaco Van Dormael, réalisateur de Toto le héros ou du Huitième jour, mais également homme de théâtre, qui est à l’origine de Kiss & Cry avec la chorégraphe. Grégory Grosjean, danseur, et Thomas Gunzig, scénariste, ont ensuite intégré le processus de création accompagnés de Julien Lambert pour les images, Sylvie Olivé pour le décor, et Nicolas Olivier pour la lumière. Ensemble, ils élaborent un monde à part entière, dans un décor de maquette filmé en gros plan. C’est là qu’interviennent les mains : les mains et les doigts deviennent de véritables protagonistes. Ils dessinent sous nos yeux la poésie d’une histoire du quotidien, inventent une fiction qui donne un autre point de vue sur le spectaculaire et l’illusion. Une expérience inédite.
