TAMBOURS JAPONAIS / THEATRE DU CHATELET
On se souvient que l’ensemble de tambours Kodo avait déjà été l’invité en 2009 et 2012 du Théâtre du Châtelet. Véritable monument national au Japon, Kodo est composé de musiciens hors du temps et du monde, vivant en communauté sur l’île de Sado en cultivant un art musical savant où l’interprète apparaît autant comme un artiste que comme un athlète. Ce nouveau et fascinant spectacle qui porte la marque du célèbre acteur de Kabuki Tamasaburo Bando, nouveau directeur artistique de l’ensemble, explore les infinies possibilités sonores qu’offrent le tambour traditionnel japonais (taïko) en revisitant dans une approche largement renouvelée les œuvres emblématiques de Kodo depuis sa création en 1970. « J’ai voulu créer une production qui rende hommage aux fondements les plus profonds du groupe, y ajoute splendeur et légèreté, et harmonise tous ces éléments en un flot singulier » explique Tamasaburo Bando qui est aussi intervenu pour faire évoluer la dimension visuelle du groupe : « En plus de l’habituel Hanten de Kodo (manteau japoanis traditionnel), j’ai introduit dans Legend des costumes originaux, ludiques et élégants » ajoute-t-il.
