Suite du parcours ascendant et sans faux pas du jeune bassiste américain, fils de Clint dont il a composé quelques musiques remarquables pour ses films récents (« Mystic River », « Million Dollar Baby » ou « Gran Torino »). Kyle Eastwood (né en 1968) concrétise avec « Metropolitan » chez Candid/Harmonia Mundi son meilleur album à ce jour. Enregistré à Paris, le disque est le fruit de son travail à la tête de son groupe régulier et avec plusieurs musiciens européens invités (français en tête !) comme le pianiste Eric Legnini, la chanteuse Camille, le trompettiste Till Bronner ou le batteur Manu Katché. Le répertoire, construit autour de compositions originales des protagonistes du disque, laisse planer sur la musique d’Eastwood des climats nouveaux et charmeurs aux subtiles réminiscences seventies.
