Théâtre des Champs-Élysées / Chor. B. Millepied, N. Soulier, O. Naharin
Sous la houlette de TranscenDanses, les excellents danseurs du L.A. Dance Project investissent le théâtre des Champs-Élysées avec un programme dans lequel Benjamin Millepied, Noé Soulier et Ohad Naharin partagent l’affiche. Si l’amoureux et minimaliste pas de deux Closer fut signé par l’ancien directeur de la danse de l’Opéra de Paris en 2006, les trois autres pièces qui constituent cette soirée sont quasi inédites. En effet, celles-ci n’ont été données qu’autour de l’été dernier en avant-première à la Fondation LUMA à Arles, qui accueille pour trois ans la troupe américaine en résidence.
Trois pièces à découvrir
Orpheus Highway écrit par Benjamin Millepied sur une partition de Steve Reich ouvre la soirée et narre, entre film et danse, une histoire d’amour aux accents de comédie musicale. Après Closer, vient le temps de Second Quartet, pièce abstraite que signe le jeune et néanmoins brillant Noé Soulier. Enfin, le programme se clôt avec Yag, pièce pour six danseurs qu’Ohad Naharin créa en 1996 pour la Batsheva, mais qui ne fut pas donnée en France. À sa manière toujours percutante, le chef de file de la danse israélienne et inventeur de la danse Gaga dresse un bouleversant portrait de famille, entre souvenirs enfouis et réminiscences, rêves et regrets, mort et ode à la danse.
