Marcos Morau revisite La Belle au bois dormant en changeant de focale sur ce conte qui nous fait passer d’un siècle à l’autre en sommeillant. Avec quinze danseurs du Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon, le chorégraphe de La Veronal se concentre sur la distorsion du temps, à prendre au double sens de durée et d’époque. Quel est ce nouveau monde que verra le réveil d’Aurore ? Face à cet avenir incertain, il imagine « un cortège, imparable, effréné, chaotique », peuplé de fantômes, perdu dans les courbes de l’espace-temps et les boucles d’un éternel retour. Mêlant à la musique originelle de Tchaïkovski des ajouts du compositeur Juan Cristóbal Saavedra, se déploie la gestuelle si particulière de La Veronal, avec ses corps disloqués aux possibilités illimitées. Morau crée ainsi un univers ensorcelant entre illusion et réalité où la danse, décalée, dépouillée et puissante, invite chacun à saisir les signes et leurs résonances dans ce monde troublé et troublant.
