Touche-à-tout de talent, le sociétaire de la Comédie-Française Guillaume Gallienne ne se contente pas de jouer. Il est également réalisateur et scénariste de son propre film Les Garçons et Guillame, à table !, originellement un spectacle théâtral inspiré par sa vie, il a chanté dans un album avec Alexandre Tharaud et a écrit le ballet Caligula avec Nicolas Le Riche pour l’Opéra de Paris… Lequel lui a cette fois demandé de mettre en scène le célèbre opéra-bouffe de Rossini : La Cenerentola. Pour celui qui s’est souvent senti un vilain petit canard, nul doute que l’histoire de Cendrillon devrait l’inspirer. Car même si Rossini a procédé à quelques ajustements par rapport au conte de Perrault (la fameuse pantoufle de vair est remplacée par un bracelet, la fée devient un philosophe, la marâtre est remplacée par un beau-père…), la trame reste la même : celle de l’altérité sociale et de la comédie des apparences. Dans le rôle-titre, la mezzo italienne Teresa Iervolino fait elle aussi ses débuts à l’Opéra Garnier tandis qu’à la baguette Ottavio Dantone donne vie à la musique virevoltante et joyeuse de Rossini.
