THÉÂTRE DES CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES / OPÉRA EN VERSION DE CONCERT
Composée en même temps que La Flûte enchantée et un peu avant le Requiem, La Clémence de Titus est l’occasion pour Mozart de revenir à l’opera seria, un genre qu’il n’avait plus abordé depuis Idoménée. Amitié, vengeance, passion sont au cœur de cette œuvre dominée par des airs magnifiques. C’est au chef Teodor Currentzis, qui a enregistré pour Sony une version remarquée de la trilogie Da Ponte, qu’est confiée la baguette de cette production. À la tête de son ensemble Musica Aeterna, celui qui a été sacré « chef d’orchestre de l’année 2016 » par la revue World Opera pourra faire preuve de son sens personnel du théâtre et de son interprétation fougueuse. Stéphanie d’Oustrac, qui vient de triompher dans Carmen au festival d’Aix-en-Provence, incarne Sesto, tandis que Karina Gauvin, désormais habituée du Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, lui fait écho dans le rôle de Vitellia.
