L’ensemble est spécialisé dans les recherches sur la mise en scène, le jeu théâtral et l’interprétation. Michel Verschaeve a signé (chez Zurfluh) dans ce sens un Traité de Chant et de Mise en Scène Baroques, préfacé par Gustav Leonhardt, premier ouvrage de référence du genre, plusieurs fois réédité. La Compagnie Baroque propose en ce mois de mars une mini-tournée francilienne autour de deux nouveaux projets. Sous le titre « Représentation des Ténèbres », ce premier programme explore entre « clair obscur, passions et dévotions, lumières et ténèbres », ces thèmes qui sont l’essence même du style baroque. Des œuvres vocales et instrumentales de Couperin, Marais, Bernier, Valette de Montigny et Du Mage rencontreront des textes de leurs contemporains déclamés par le comédien Fabrice Conan pour souligner l’étendue de l’inspiration née de ces ténèbres. Avec Elodie Mourot et Elodie Nadeau (sopranos) et Francis Roudier (orgue), les 13 et 16 mars. Deux jours plus tard au Chesnay, Michel Verschaeve nous convie à une étonnante et ludique « Leçon de chant » baroque en compagnie de la soprano Julie Horreaux.
