Monsieur Tout-le-monde en quête d’égards et de reconnaissance, le personnage inventé par Patrick Süskind nous entraine dans les ambivalences obsessionnelles d’un être solitaire. « Ce mono-drame a comme héros un homme moyen, fait observer Natascha Rudolf, un contrebassiste anonyme, une sorte d’ouvrier spécialisé de l’orchestre classique. Seul dans sa chambre avec son instrument, ses rêves brisés, son désespoir, sa mauvaise foi, son petit alcoolisme, [il] s’empêtre dans ses pensées, se dévoile, se met à nu, s’effondre, cherche à se relever… » Révélé au grand public français par Jacques Villeret au début des années 1990, ce texte éclairant les grandeurs et les petitesses de l’humain est aujourd’hui interprété à la MC93 par le comédien d’origine allemande Hubertus Biermann. Un spectacle à l’humour grinçant qui vise à « explorer par les mots, les silences et les sons, la teneur de la relation [qui lie ce contrebassiste] à son instrument, relation faite d’amour, de haine et de musique ».
