François Cervantes est l’un de ces artistes essentiels qui vise à partager son art avec le public, à toucher profondément les spectateurs, ce qui, loin d’être un cliché convenu, demeure une finalité inépuisable au théâtre, et difficile à mettre en œuvre ! Créée en 1987, troisième pièce de la compagnie qui voyait naître les clowns immenses et bouleversants Zig (Dominique Chevallier) et Arletti (Catherine Germain), La Curiosité des Anges a beaucoup voyagé, car ces clowns beckettiens, pitres marginaux hors de toute psychologie, de toute anecdote et de tout folklore, savent agir sur notre imaginaire, sur nos émotions profondes. « Le clown pose la question du présent absolu, » confie François Cervantes. « Cette pièce, c’est la rencontre de l’autre, c’est ça, c’est tout. »
