« Ce projet est né de ma familiarité avec le silence. De ma nécessité de déstructurer les concerts flamencos où le chant, la musique et la danse sont intimement mêlés. Je voulais voir les éléments constitutifs séparément, montrer le silence. » confie Israel Galvan. Brisant la gangue des codes flamenco par la ruse d’une déconstruction amoureusement critique, ce danseur d’exception a imposé un style en quelques créations : iconoclaste, traversé par les forces ténébreuses du butô ou la transe possessive de la tarentelle, il libère d’un geste à vif toute l’électricité sèche du flamenco. Conçu en écho à La Edad de Oro, solo qui l’a révélé en France, La Curva explore au corps à corps l’espace en vibrations. Entouré de la chanteuse Inés Bacán, de Bobote au compás (le rythme) et de la pianiste Sylvie Courvoisier, grande figure du jazz expérimental, Israel Galvan touche par la puissance du mouvement ce vibrato singulier, qui rapproche la voix primitive et le piano d’avant-garde.
