Théâtre Artéphile / texte et mes Hélène François et Émilie Vandenameele
C’est enfoncer une porte ouverte que de le dire : notre société hyper-médiatique produit des stars à l’envi et pousse chacun à se plonger dans les délices de l’idolâtrie. Hélène François et Emilie Vandenameele, fondatrices du groupe ACM, ne vous diront pas qu’elles n’adulent personne. C’est même à partir de « nombreuses lectures et de rêves autour d’une figure célèbre » qu’elles ont imaginé La dernière idole. Même si dans la pièce il s’appellera « le chanteur », certains y reconnaîtront volontiers la figure de Johnny Hallyday.

Sur scène, Pierre-François Garel, formé au Conservatoire National, interprétera cette « vieille rock star qui a peur de mourir », qui s’acharne « à remplir le vide », et qui pour cela parle. Bien au-delà de l’histoire de notre icône nationale, son monologue racontera la dépendance à la scène, la construction de l’image de soi quand on s’en retrouve dépossédé par la célébrité, ce devenir de « pure extériorité » qui transforme en « un autre, une image ». Et à travers son récit, le théâtre s’affirmera à nouveau comme l’éternel acteur et l’incontournable révélateur de toute comédie des masques.
