OPERA BAROQUE ET CONTEMPORAIN / SAINT-QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES ET LES ABBESSES
Ce n’est pas la première fois que Gérard Pesson jette un regard et sa plume de compositeur d’aujourd’hui vers le passé. On se souvient de son opéra Pastorale, d’après L’Astrée d’Honoré d’Urfé, et les clins d’œil à la musique du temps jadis peuplent son œuvre. L’opération, cette fois, est très particulière. « La Double Coquette consiste en 32 additions à l’œuvre originale d’Antoine Dauvergne et de Charles-Simon Favart, explique-t-il. Elles sont le plus souvent très courtes : ici la résonance d’un accord, là s’ajoute simplement une note tenue ». S’appuyant sur le livret revisité par Pierre Alferi, il recherche une certaine ambiguïté entre les époques, dont les doubles passeurs sont l’Ensemble Amarillis et la distribution emmenée par la soprano Isabelle Poulenard.
