« Je travaille un type d’écriture nouvelle et multimédia qui s’appuie sur l’investigation pour la création de spectacles documentaires. La représentation procède d’une écriture en soi – le texte, la vidéo, le multimédia et la rencontre de témoins. Le projet européen Corps de femme couvre quatre volets – la Pologne avec le lancer du marteau, la France avec le rugby, la Turquie avec les haltères, l’Allemagne avec l’athlétisme en ex-RDA. La question du genre se pose à travers des femmes qui pratiquent des sports dits virils. Le sport opère à la façon d’une loupe grossissante sur les relations des hommes et des femmes et sur la sexuation des pratiques corporelles. Les femmes attirent la méfiance dès que leurs performances sont élevées. Elles ne se suffisent pas à elles-mêmes : elles doivent prouver qui elles sont.
Jouer avec toutes ces images de sportives libres qui affirment leur être au féminin.
Le premier spectacleest conçu d’après le portrait solitaire de la Polonaise Kamila Skolimowska, première championne olympique du lancer du marteau en 2000, malheureusement disparue en 2009. Je l’ai filmée et suivie en entraînement en 2008. Le deuxième voletest conçu d’après des portraits de joueuses de rugby franciliennes. Le rugby, disent-elles, leur a appris la féminité, une notion mouvante qui change au gré de la tendance, des époques, des civilisations et des pays. De nouveau, j’ai interviewé, filmé et suivi les joueuses dans leurs matchs et leur vie, semaine et week-end : le rugby est leur seconde famille. Sur le plateau, une comédienne joue avec les images des quinze joueuses – isolées ou en groupe – dans la pratique de leur sport d’équipe et avec des sons mixés en musique. Grâce aux nombreuses caméras et à la technologie avancée, le sport est la chose la mieux filmée au monde. Il est tentant de jouer avec toutes ces images de sportives libres qui affirment leur être au féminin. Jusqu’où accepte-t-on d’aller pour se dépasser ? Ce corps de femme leur convient-il ? La comédienne Johanna Korthals Altes assume sur la scène tous les rôles en question. »
