L’histoire de la modernité en danse a toujours eu à faire avec la sculpture. En témoigne aujourd’hui le succès de l’exposition à Paris Rodin et la danse, qui met au jour le lien entre l’animé et l’inanimé, entre le temps immobilisé et l’impermanence, entre la matière et l’évanescence. La chorégraphe Nathalie Pernette reprend à son compte cette dialectique et puise dans un corpus d’œuvres sculptées pour faire surgir la danse. Avec pour fil conducteur l’étreinte amoureuse et des œuvres de l’Italien Antonio Canova, elle offre ici une déambulation qui questionne notre regard sur le corps.
Vivre l’immobilité
S’appuyant sur une succession de poses, les danseurs ont ici pour défi d’habiter l’espace d’une présence et d’un état de corps spécifiquement travaillés. Le passage d’une posture à une autre constitue également un enjeu chorégraphique de taille, auquel la chorégraphe répond par des procédés quasi-cinématographiques lorsqu’elle parle de morphing ou de fondu enchaîné pour évoquer la transformation. Le spectateur n’appuie pas son regard sur le choc d’une virtuosité comme c’est souvent le cas dans l’espace public. C’est dans des instants de contemplation, de beauté et de poésie qu’il construit sa propre histoire, parmi ces figures du baiser muséales et en même temps profondément vivantes.
