OPÉRA-COMIQUE
La Fille de Madame Angot n’y fut pas créée mais s’y installa durablement à partir de 1918. On en retient le pittoresque du Paris populaire, celui de la Halle et des chansonniers, autant que l’écriture vive, entraînante et contrastée de Charles Lecocq, multipliant les ritournelles que se renvoient solistes et chœur. L’orchestration, soignée mais sans toutefois la verdeur d’un Offenbach, inscrit l’œuvre dans la lignée d’Hérold ou Auber. Sous la légèreté affleure cependant un propos ouvertement politique : par les intrigues ou les chansons, on y conteste ou moque le gouvernement et l’ordre établi. De quoi donner libre cours au metteur en scène Richard Brunel pour une relecture actuelle. Il pourra s’appuyer sur une distribution idéale avec Hélène Guilmette dans le rôle-titre, mais aussi Véronique Gens ou Julien Behr et le chœur et l’orchestre du Concert Spirituel dirigés par Hervé Niquet.
