Alors que des chercheurs viennent de rattacher de façon certaine une lettre de Mozart sur la mort (« ce véritable et meilleur ami de l’homme » à la pensée maçonnique, la vision de La Flûte enchantée par Robert Carsen vient à propos. Le metteur en scène canadien insiste en effet sur la gravitas (qui n’exclut pas l’humour) et la fraternité de l’œuvre dans cette production créée en 2013 au Festival de Baden-Baden. Pour cette reprise, on compte les plus brillantes voix françaises du moment : Cyrille Dubois (Tamino) en alternance avec Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Florian Sempey (Papageno), Nicolas Testé (Sarastro), Julie Fuchs (Pamina) et Sabine Devieilhe (la Reine de la Nuit).
