La thématique de la saison de la Cité de la musique, « Corps et âmes », ne pouvait passer à côté de la folie, source d’inspiration – ou état clinique – de nombreux compositeurs. Parcourant les siècles, la semaine consacrée à ce thème s’ouvre sur un hommage au philosophe Erasme de Rotterdam, auteur de l’incontournable Eloge de la folie, par Jordi Savall et son ensemble Hesperion XXI (11 décembre). Les Arts florissants, dirigés par Paul Agnew (décidément de plus en plus présent à la tête de cette formation…), ont choisi de donner des madrigaux de Monteverdi composés d’après les poèmes du Tasse, interné après de nombreux délires paranoïaques (16 et 17 décembre). La folie est bien sûr un thème récurrent dans le répertoire lyrique, comme nous le rappelle le concert de la soprano Olga Peretyatko avec la Chambre philharmonique, dirigé par Emmanuel Krivine, où figurent des airs de La Somnambule de Bellini ou de Lucia di Lammermoor de Donizetti (9 décembre).
Concerts et conférences
Emmanuel Krivine dirigera également la Quatrième symphonie de Schumann, compositeur dont les troubles psychologiques le conduiront à terminer son existence en asile. Schumann est également au programme du chœur Accentus et de l’Orchestre de l’Opéra de Rouen, dirigés par Laurence Equilbey, qui a exhumé deux ballades ultimes pour chœur et orchestre, à la veine médiéviste (10 décembre). L’Ensemble intercontemporain, sous la houlette du compositeur Matthias Pintscher, se lancera dans une partition ambitieuse de Fausto Romitelli : Amok Koma, illustration d’une sorte de folie musicale, réunissant neuf instruments et électronique (15 décembre). Comme toujours, la Cité de la musique associe concerts et conférences, dont une, très attendue, de la psychanalyste Caroline Eliacheff sur la folie à l’opéra (9 décembre).
