L’œuvre de Louis Aubert (1877-1968), élève de Fauré, admirateur de Ravel et Debussy, n’a pas, il s’en faut, la reconnaissance qu’elle mérite. Avec la résurrection l’an dernier de La Forêt bleue, son opéra d’après les contes de Perrault, la Péniche Opéra a contribué à réparer cette injustice et surtout fait entendre cette musique à la fois très personnelle et bien ancrée dans son temps, qui soutient la comparaison avec celle de ses contemporains. Comme Ravel dans son ballet Ma Mère l’Oye, Aubert convie ces personnages connus de tous – Petit Poucet, Chaperon rouge… – qui habitent et nourrissent notre imaginaire, génération après génération. Mise en scène par Mireille Larroche, cette production est chantée par les solistes et les membres du Jeune Chœur de Paris dirigé par Geoffroy Jourdain.
