C’est l’un des créateurs les plus singuliers de la scène européenne. En janvier 2017, Pippo Delbono présentait Vangelo au Théâtre du Rond-Point, spectacle choc faisant surgir les fulgurances d’une eucharistie laïque. En cette rentrée, dans la même salle, l’artiste italien rend une nouvelle fois compte de la matière incandescente du monde. Cette fois-ci en explorant la notion de joie. « Je pense à la joie comme quelque chose qui a à voir avec la libération de la lutte, de la douleur, du noir, de l’obscurité, déclare Pippo Delbono. Je pense aux déserts, je pense aux prisons, je pense aux personnes qui s’évadent de ces prisons, je pense aux fleurs. »
Conjurer les mauvais sorts
Une mer de bateaux en papier, des pluies de fleurs, des tapis de feuilles mortes, un artiste qui danse dans une cage, des vestiges de costumes de foire qui jonchent le sol… Les comédiens et danseurs de La Gioia sont « des réfugiés, des handicapés, des gueules cassées ». C’est pour eux, mais aussi pour Bobò (figure emblématique de ses spectacles disparu l’hiver dernier), que Pippo Delbono a écrit cette nouvelle création en forme de procession du bonheur. Un hommage à la vie qui vise « à conjurer les mauvais sorts de l’angoisse, du chagrin et des démons intérieurs ».
