Mac Créteil/Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines / de Tchekhov / adaptation et mes Arthur Nauzyciel
Créée dans la Cour d’honneur lors du dernier Festival d’Avignon, La Mouette d’Arthur Nauzyciel ressemble à un songe nocturne, une sorte de rêve de théâtre puisé dans un entre-deux, entre le royaume des vivants et celui des morts. Les personnages, figés dans une lente et apprêtée mélancolie, sont des fantômes surgis du néant, des mouettes mazoutées qui ne peuvent vivre. La pièce commence par la mort de Treplev, qui espère créer un théâtre nouveau, puis se déroule par-delà cette mort. Si l’art console et aide à comprendre le monde, si l’utopie aide à le supporter, l’atmosphère demeure de bout en bout particulièrement funèbre, comme éteinte par la folie catastrophique des hommes. C’est une communauté humaine comme un chœur tragique. Certains apprécient le parti pris, d’une saisissante beauté, très chorégraphié et étiré dans le temps, d’autres regrettent de ne pas retrouver ici le vibrant Tchekhov, capable de donner à ses personnages une si exceptionnelle ardeur de vie. Souveraine, Dominique Reymond – Arkadina – domine la distribution des comédiens. A vous de juger…
