Chaque été depuis 1995, auteurs de théâtre, traducteurs, acteurs, metteurs en scène et chercheurs sont nombreux à se retrouver à l’Abbaye des Prémontrés à Pont-à-Mousson en Meurthe-et-Moselle. Ils viennent non pas pour une retraite spirituelle, mais pour partager leur amour des écritures théâtrales contemporaines. Dirigé depuis 2022 par Véronique Bellegarde, ce rendez-vous est la part visible d’un travail mené à l’année par une équipe de passionnés, qui dans le cadre d’un comité de lecture sélectionnent les textes mis en espace pendant le festival. Du 24 au 30 août, nous pourrons ainsi découvrir des pièces inédites, écrites aussi bien par des auteurs déjà connus dans le paysage français que par de nouveaux venus. Grâce à son radar international, auquel contribuent des partenaires tels que la Maison Antoine-Vitez – centre international de la traduction théâtrale, Fabulamundi Playwriting Europe et Tintas Frescas en Amérique du Sud, la Mousson fait se croiser des écritures de partout. Cette année par exemple, l’écriture du Camerounais Edouard Elvis Bvouma côtoie celle du Québécois Steve Gagnon, de la Norvégienne Monika Iksatuen, de l’Italienne Tatjana Motta ou encore du Chinois Pat To Yan. Pour le public et les élèves de l’Université d’été aussi organisée par la Mousson, ces croisements sont source de bien des joies.
