Dans un petit appartement du Naples gouailleur et populaire, Anna vit avec Federico, son mari, et Monsieur Gennaro, son vieux père, qui consacre son existence à inventer des tours pour ridiculiser et humilier son gendre. Arrivent le frère et la belle-sœur d’Anna, qui ont perdu leur maison et leur travail. La naïve et courageuse couturière tient debout toute la famille avec son travail et essaie de maintenir unie une famille précarisée par le sort. Mais elle apprend que son mari la trahit. Elle se tourne vers Caterina, sa voisine, femme libre et indépendante, et essaie de sauver l’amour de Federico avec une force qui lui vient du petit qui pousse dans son ventre pendant que le monde se déchaîne et se déchire. Croyant à la force du rire comme antidote au drame, le Carrozzone Teatro met en scène les tragicomédies inventées par le jeune auteur contemporain Fabio Marra en opérant « la fusion tantôt harmonieuse, tantôt grinçante, entre rires et larmes ».
