De « nouvelles formes » : c’est ce qui motive tant le jeune auteur Konstantin Treplev (Kostia), qui désire s’accomplir à travers son art, et qui aime Nina pour qui il écrit une pièce. Dans son adaptation, Myriam Saduis commence par la fin, par le suicide de Kostia, et les vivants ensuite se souviennent, consultent son ordinateur rempli de documents personnels, et interrogent sa vie tragiquement interrompue ; en cela même ils réinscrivent cette fin brutale dans le cycle du temps, à défaut du cycle de la transmission (comme dans Hamlet, les générations ici ne se comprennent guère…). Cette famille d’artistes très contemporaine, portée par de remarquables acteurs, apparaît dans toute sa poignante humanité. Primée en Belgique, saluée à Avignon en 2012, l’œuvre de Myriam Saduis prouve une fois encore que la puissance d’imagination des artistes est sans limites. Et Tchekhov est un maître aux enseignements infinis !
