Théâtre du Roi René / d’après Stephan Zweig / mes Elodie Menant
L’adaptation de cette nouvelle de Stephan Zweig par Elodie Ménant, qui signe également la mise en scène, a déjà remporté lors des deux précédentes éditions du festival off un grand succès tant public que critique. Irène, femme adultère, est traquée par Elsa, qui la fait chanter. Peur, trahison, mensonge et paranoïa structurent l’intrigue qui se déploie dans l’expression des non-dits et l’intimité des personnages. « Tous les dialogues étaient à inventer. Et je souhaitais traiter cette histoire de telle façon que les pensées d’Irène se concrétisent sur le plateau. Ainsi, j’entrelace les scènes. On assiste à ce que vit Irène et à ce qu’elle pense au même instant». Cette mise en espace des pensées, des souvenirs, de cet enclavement d’Irène terrorisée à l’idée de la possibilité que son mari apprenne qu’elle le trompe, inspire une mise en scène hitchcockienne. Dans un décor stylisé, les trois protagonistes, Hélène Deguy (Irène) Aliocha Itovich (Fritz) et Ophélie Marsaud (Elsa) maîtrisent parfaitement leur jeu.
