Une jeune femme aux m’urs dissolues, son frère et un « libertin des plus
corrompus », entreprennent de faire l’éducation érotique d’une jeune vierge
de 15 ans ayant jusque-là vécu selon les principes chastes et vertueux inculqués
par sa très pieuse mère. ?uvre romanesque sortie de l’imaginaire du Marquis de
Sade, La Philosophie dans le boudoir développe une dialectique du désir
et de la liberté à travers les expérimentations voluptueuses de cette petite
société du XVIIIème siècle. « Je ne montrerai pas les actes de copulation ou
de fornication sur le plateau », assure Christine Letailleur, « ce qui
est pour l’oreille ne doit pas faire double emploi avec ce qui est pour l’?il ».
Travaillant à « un jeu de cache-cache, de montré et de non montré », la
metteure en scène n?en a pas moins pour ambition de « fouiller l’être, dans
tous ses replis », d’accompagner Sade dans sa quête de l’intime, de ce
qu’elle-même appelle « la vie en ses secrets ».
