OPERA BUFFA / THEATRE DU CHATELET
En 2007, cette production de La Pietra del Paragone de Rossini avait enthousiasmé le public. Il faut dire que ce « melodramma gioccoso », écrit par le compositeur à l’âge de 20 ans, possède tous les ingrédients d’un opéra buffa flamboyant, tant du point de vue de l’histoire et de ses rebondissements (un comte fortuné qui recherche une épouse désintéressée), que de la virtuosité de l’écriture vocale. Une partition à la fois savante et distrayante qui fit l’admiration de Stendhal. Le plateau vocal réunit dans les rôles principaux la mezzo-soprano Teresa Iervolino et la basse Simon Lim. Mais surtout, la réussite de cette production tient à la virtuosité de la mise en scène, réalisée par Giorgio Barberio Corsetti, pour la direction d’acteurs, et par Pierrick Sorin, pour le (génial !) dispositif vidéo. Dans la fosse, le vibrionnant Jean-Christophe Spinosi dirige son ensemble Matheus.
