En bon personnage de l’auteur australien Daniel Keene, Hanna est une femme au bord du gouffre, chancelante mais encore prête à en découdre avec le monde. Héroïne de La Pluie, extraite du recueil Pièces courtes 2, elle est la mémoire vivante, mais plus pour longtemps, d’une époque – la Seconde Guerre Mondiale – où des gens partaient en train pour ne jamais revenir. Dans une mise en scène d’Olivier Chambon, co-fondateur de la compagnie Théâtre Chat Bus, Valérie Leconte interprète cette vieille femme avec sensibilité. Avec une sobriété qui lui permet, comme le veut Daniel Keene dans l’écriture, de « saisir le poème à sa source, à la formation du son, avant même la syntaxe ». Sous un ciel de manteaux inspiré de l’exposition Personnes au Grand Palais en 2010, elle est une énigme. Une présence-absence qui fait résonner La Pluie aujourd’hui.
