LA SEINE MUSICALE / PHILHARMONIE / EGLISE SAINT ROCH / BAROQUE
Selon un rituel implicite, chaque année, les Passions de Bach reviennent à l’affiche au moment des fêtes de Pâques. Donnée pour la première à Leipzig le Vendredi Saint de 1727, la Saint-Matthieu est plus ample et plus dramatique, avec ses deux chœurs, que la Saint-Jean – la partition de la Saint-Marc, perdue, a quant à elle fait l’objet de reconstitutions. Accompagné de son ensemble Cappella Mediterranea, du Choeur de l’Opéra de Dijon et de la Maîtrise de Radio France, Leonardo Garcia Alarcon, avec son sens aigu de la réinvention de l’authenticité musicale, prend le parti d’une lecture théâtralisée dans une mise en espace à La Seine Musicale. A la Philharmonie, le vétéran de Bach qu’est Philippe Herreweghe affirmera, avec son Collegium Vocale Gent, une sobriété flamande centrée sur l’expression de l’émotion et de la spiritualité. Quant à l’immersion plus liturgique, c’est à Daniel Reuss et son instinct de chef de chœur à la tête de la Cappella Amsterdam, qu’elle reviendra en l’Église Saint-Roch.
