NOUVELLE PRODUCTION / OPERA DE TOURS / OPERA DE LILLE / ATELIER LYRIQUE DE TOURCOING
Créés à quelques semaines d’intervalle en 1872 à l’Opéra Comique, La princesse jaune de Saint-Saëns et Djamileh de Bizet sont deux variations en un acte sur l’amour aux couleurs de l’exotisme, alors en vogue en ce siècle d’expéditions coloniales. Dans une mise en scène de Géraldine Martineau, c’est Laurent Campellone, le nouveau directeur de l’Opéra de Tours et fin connaisseur du répertoire romantique français, qui dirige la première série de représentations. La distribution met en avant la nouvelle génération du chant français : Aude Extrémo, l’une des mezzos montantes du moment, incarne Djamileh, face au Haroun de Sahy Ratia, révélation Adami 2019, qui campe Kornélis dans La princesse jaune. Le spectacle sera repris, avec le même plateau vocal, en mai 2022, à l’Atelier Lyrique de Tourcoing, sous la baguette de son directeur, François-Xavier Roth, à la tête de son orchestre Les Siècles.
