Grands Formats, fédération née en 2003 pour soutenir et valoriser les grands ensembles, choisit volontiers la rentrée pour taper du poing sur la table. Pour faire entendre la voix de ses 90 membres qui reflètent idéalement la diversité artistique du jazz et des musiques improvisées, souvent en proie à des enjeux artistiques spécifiques et des défis économiques redoutables. Grands Formats pousse ainsi dans la lumière quelques-uns de ses orchestres à l’occasion d’un mini-festival. Cette année, trois scènes de Seine-et-Marne se mobilisent et s’associent à l’événement pour donner à écouter le magnifique programme « Rituels » de l’Orchestre National de Jazz (direction Fred Maurin) dont le disque vient de sortir, le 2 octobre aux Passerelles de Pontault-Combault, La Caja Negra de Pierre Bertrand engagé dans une relecture de la Far East Suite (de Duke Ellington) le lendemainà la Ferme du Buisson, puis enfin le Duke Orchestra de Laurent Mignard pour une reprise de son Jazzy Poppins, autre hommage à un album d’Ellington, le 4 à l’auditorium Jean-Cocteau de Noisiel.
