Le titre murmure des possibles encore flous, esquisse les prémisses d’une fiction, l’intuition d’une histoire… C’est à même le plateau, dans la secrète alchimie de l’espace, des corps, des images et des mots, que Joël Pommerat finit de nouer les tenants d’une pièce et la nomme. La réunification des deux Corées est née de l’expérimentation d’un dispositif bifrontal durant des mois d’ateliers de recherche et a butiné son inspiration ici et là : dans le scénario de Bergman, Scènes de la vie conjugale, dans l’œuvre de Schnitzler, dans les nouvelles et pièces en un acte de Tchekhov… « Le point de départ essentiel a été le désir de travailler dans un espace bifrontal. C’est-à-dire deux gradins de spectateurs se faisant face, étirés latéralement, creusant une aire de jeu centrale, comme un couloir entre deux montagnes. » livre, peu disert, l’auteur et metteur en scène. « C’est une suite d’instants sans unité déclarée ou cohérence narrative. Elle ressemble plus à une succession de petits fragments fictionnels, comme des nouvelles, sur un thème à peu près commun. Ce n’est pas du tissage, plutôt de la mosaïque. Se juxtaposent des morceaux, des éclats singuliers. » ajoute-t-il. Autant avouer que cette création garde toute son aura de mystère, à découvrir en scène…
