C’est l’un de ces rendez-vous avignonnais de grande qualité, insolite, étonnant et riche de découvertes. Cinq compagnies présentent leur travail dans le cadre authentique du théâtre de la Condition des Soies, interrogeant des préoccupations sociales contemporaines et inventant des esthétiques originales et innovantes. La compagnie Multi-X conçoit des spectacles pluridisciplinaires très créatifs, dans un style narratif visuel et pictural bousculant l’imaginaire. Sa fondatrice, Vera Chen, présente Clear Life ?+ un solo plein d’humour, très physique, dont elle est l’interprète et l’auteur, dans une installation d’écrans foisonnants. Elle questionne notre vie saturée d’images survitaminées. Le Short One Player Drama Group exprime ses vues critiques de divers aspects de la société, et recherche une communication authentique avec les gens. The little Child met en scène un jeune garçon qui chaque jour rend visite à son père dans le coma à l’hôpital.
Technique et culture se conjuguent
Le Water Reflection Dance Ensemble, troupe de danse contemporaine créée par Hui Chen et Choon-Lin Lee, fusionne techniques du ballet et de danse contemporaine. Orient, une femme en mouvement sur l’axe du temps mêle danse, poèmes, voix et vidéo, questionne et met en perspective la tradition chinoise des pieds bandés, symbole d’asservissement des femmes. Le Möbius Strip Theatre abolit les frontières artistiques et crée La Cité de la distorsion. Images digitales et musique électronique sont générées en temps réel par les mouvements et les voix des danseurs. Grands tambours chinois et chants spirituels s’intègrent dans cet espace façonné par la technique. Freedom Beat est un ensemble de percussions combinant percussions et musique électronique, une démarche très novatrice qui invite au voyage. Un florilège d’œuvres à découvrir !
