Non contente de jouer d’une voix d’or, Marie Perbost maîtrise aussi l’art de se bâtir un répertoire. S’il suffit d’un exemple, ce pourrait bien être « Une jeunesse à Paris », ce disque de 2019 où elle croise et révèle ce qui unit la mélodie, l’opérette et la chanson de cabaret au tournant du XXe siècle. Mais sa curiosité se délecte aussi de raretés de Mozart ou Rameau dénichées par Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas (et enregistrées chez Harmonia Mundi et Alpha). Celui-ci, avec son ensemble Les Surprises, accompagne la soprano à la Salle Cortot pour un programme autour de Monteverdi et de ses contemporaines, les compositrices et chanteuses Francesca Caccini et Barbara Strozzi.
Baroque au féminin
Marie Perbost poursuit ensuite son exploration du baroque au féminin avec une autre Vénitienne, Antonia Bembo, ainsi qu’Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre dont elle chante aux Invalides des airs aux côtés de Claire Lefilliâtre et des Épopées, la compagnie de Stéphane Fuget. Elle rejoint également la distribution des Génies (1736) de Mademoiselle Duval. Cette partition, second opéra d’une compositrice à être représenté sur la scène de l’Académie royale de musique, récemment ressuscitée par Camille Delaforge et son ensemble Il Caravaggio, fera l’objet d’un enregistrement sur le label Château de Versailles Spectacles.
