Voilà un conte qui bouscule les archétypes : la sorcière Ephémère doute de tout, même de ses pouvoirs, la belle-mère Germione Brocélius est aimante, le miroir magique ne lui dit jamais qu’elle est la plus belle, etc. Ephémère et Germione vivotent au fond de la forêt lorsqu’un industriel proche de la faillite fait appel à leurs services afin d’ensorceler un concurrent déloyal. Le sortilège ne fonctionne pas comme prévu et entraîne les personnages dans un thriller magique évoquant l’univers de la BD, où les techniques utilisées, de la pyrotechnie à la lumière noire, de la projection d’images aux effets de miroir, soulignent le caractère surnaturel de l’histoire. Au passage, la comédie égratigne la société de consommation avec humour et ironie. Une belle aventure en chansons, vive, rythmée et revigorante.
