De Mathieu Desseigne, on connaît bien la carrière d’interprète, au sein des Ballets C de la B, où il travaille aux côtés d’Alain Platel depuis cinq ans. Formé au Centre National des Arts du Cirque, il est aussi bien danseur qu’acrobate et équilibriste. A Avignon, dès le début des années 1990, il a rencontré Nabil Hemaïzia, qui, quant à lui, se passionne pour le hip-hop. Les deux jeunes artistes fondent le collectif 2 Temps 3 Mouvements avec un troisième Avignonnais, Sylvain Bouillet. Ils créent leur première pièce commune, Reflets, en 2006.
Une « petite mutuelle artistique »
Ce collectif qu’ils qualifient volontiers de « petite mutuelle artistique » profite de la diversité de leurs sensibilités et de leurs univers esthétiques. Avec le duo La Stratégie de l’Echec, ils signent ensemble une pièce-manifeste, qui prend acte de ces différences et de la manière dont elles influent sur le parcours de chacun. La virtuosité de Mathieu Desseigne est évidente, mais la présence de Nabil Hemaiza n’est pas moins forte, à sa façon. L’imaginaire convoqué s’inspire du cinéma et de l’acrobatie. Le cirque, la danse contemporaine et le hip-hop sont ici mis à profit pour inventer une esthétique hybride et un propos toujours activement engagé. En une époque marquée par une frilosité avérée vis-à-vis de la pénétration de cultures différentes, une telle démarche est plus que bienvenue : le collectif 2 Temps 3 Mouvements invente, simultanément, la danse et la France de demain.
