Théâtre du Chêne Noir / texte William Shakespeare / mise en scène Sandrine Anglade
« Fabrique d’images et de sens, La Tempête est sans doute la pièce la plus opératique de tout le théâtre de Shakespeare, déclare Sandrine Anglade. Elle fait la part belle au conte, à l’image, à la musique. (…) Portée par le souffle de l’imaginaire et de la poésie, elle [ouvre] une réflexion profonde sur la nature de l’homme. » Pour le spectacle qu’elle présente à Avignon Off, la metteuse en scène a réuni une troupe de neuf interprètes. Ils et elles incarnent les rôles de la pièce (la traduction et l’adaptation sont de Clément Camar-Mercier), chantent (en solo ou en polyphonie), jouent de la musique (de la guitare et de l’accordéon).
Une réflexion sur la nature de l’homme
Poulies, châssis, jeux de bâches, de transparence et d’opacité… Les aventures de Prospero, duc déchu qui organise sa vengeance en commandant aux éléments et aux esprits, posent la question de l’illusion et de la vérité à travers un spectacle qui prend le parti du mystérieux, du poétique, du baroque. « Agitée par les vents, la magie du théâtre met ici en scène la critique de nos excès, de nos mensonges, une lutte contre l’obscurantisme pour mieux dépasser nos démons, fait remarquer Sandrine Anglade. La Tempête est un appel aux valeurs de tolérance et de compassion que nous devons affirmer haut et fort dans nos théâtres… »
