NOUVELLE PRODUCTION / OPERA BASTILLE
Ce n’est pas sa première incursion dans l’univers de l’opéra. Le réalisateur des « Adieux à la reine » et de « Villa Amalia » avait déjà monté Werther à l’Opéra de Paris. On se souvient d’une mise en scène élégante, sans grandes audaces formelles mais à la direction d’acteurs inspirée. Il s’attaque cette fois-ci à une autre œuvre culte du XIXème siècle : La Traviata de Verdi. Le personnage de Violetta sera incarné par la soprano allemande Diana Damrau, qui a d’ailleurs triomphé cet hiver dans ce même rôle à la Scala de Milan. A noter également dans la distribution, la présence de Ludovic Tézier dans le rôle de Giorgio Germont. Dans la fosse, l’Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris sera dirigé alternativement par Daniel Oren et Francesco Ivan Ciampa.
