« Chaque homme est un abîme, on a le vertige quand on regarde au fond » écrivait Büchner par la voix de Woyzeck… Peut-être est-ce l’écho de nos indicibles exils, de notre humanité blessée, que nous entendons hurler en silence du fond de cet abîme ? Woyzeck, celui qui « court à travers le monde comme un rasoir ouvert », pour s’échapper d’une société qui le broie, pour échapper à sa vie, fait résonner ce vide suffocant qui emplit l’âme des hommes aux prises avec la violence et la solitude. Pour Jacques Osinski, qui mit en scène Woyzeck en 2007, la pièce inachevée de Büchner a ouvert la brèche d’un questionnement qu’il continue d’explorer avec Un fils de notre temps de Horváth, créé la saison passée, et maintenant avec Dehors devant la porte, de Wolfgang Borchert.
Une poignante trilogie
Ces textes « parlent de la réalité du monde, de la difficulté d’être un homme dans un monde qui pour fonctionner s’en remet à un système et par là même perd son humanité. » souligne le metteur en scène, directeur du Centre Dramatique National des Alpes. « Un Fils de notre temps, en particulier, fait violemment écho à la situation actuelle. Le besoin de réponse du héros perdu dans un monde qui ne lui fait pas de place, son besoin de cadre, son besoin d’une famille, la violence du chômage et de la pauvreté nous tendent un miroir troublant. » Dans ce roman écrit en 1937 à la première personne, Horváth suit l’errance d’un « pauvre chien de chômeur » en quête de sens, qui s’enrôle dans l’armée et s’égare dans l’exaltation guerrière et l’idéologie totalitaire. Ce destin trouve un troublant prolongement avec celui du soldat Beckmann, « héros » de Dehors devant la porte de Wolfgang Borchert (1947) : un « suicidé à la manque » qui revient du front russe et erre parmi les vivants sans trouver personne à qui parler. Jacques Osinski noue ces trois textes en une poignante trilogie et trame les correspondances par la scénographie et les acteurs pour faire jaillir les tourments et l’onirisme qui empoignent la vie.
