C’est un grand classique des fêtes de fin d’année que présente l’Opéra de Massy pour trois représentations du 31 décembre (soirée de gala) au 4 janvier. Sommet de l’opéra bouffe et incomparable générateur de bonne humeur (même s’il n’est pas interdit de voir quelque chose de tragique dans ce jubilatoire jeu de dupes), La Vie parisienne est ici présentée dans une mise en scène de Nadine Duffaut qui a déjà visité de nombreuses scènes lyriques en France. La distribution, toujours périlleuse pour ce genre d’ouvrage hybride, entre théâtre (c’était le parti-pris de Daniel Mesguich à la Comédie Française en 1997) et chant, est entre les mains de quelques jeunes artistes prometteurs dont Isabelle Cals dans le rôle de Metella et Olivier Grand dans celui du Baron.
