On n’entre pas dans la Zon-Mai. Pourtant, c’est une incursion dans un espace intime, un aller-retour entre le territoire et le « chez-soi », porté par les interprètes du chorégraphe belge Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Ils sont français, belges, indiens, burkinabés, islandais, vivent aux quatre coins du monde, et ont accueilli la caméra de Gilles Delmas dans leur intérieur quotidien, évoluant dans leur cuisine, leur salon, leur salle de bains… Pour l’image, ils mettent en scène de courtes séquences de danse en lien avec des situations de vie, des fragments de leur histoire, ou leur propre interprétation de la question du lieu.
Entre migrations et rapprochements
Posté à l’extérieur de cette maison monumentale, le public circule au gré des vingt et une séquences projetées sur les murs et le toit de la Zon-Mai, baigné dans un univers sonore et par la voix de Fadia El Hage. Au cœur du dispositif, les idées de nomadisme et de déplacement sont incarnées à la fois par le spectateur qui déambule, par les vidéos qui déplacent les notions de frontières et de migration, et par l’architecture qui renverse le lien intérieur / extérieur. Mais la Zon-Mai est également le symbole du rapprochement entre différents univers, différentes cultures, différents publics rassemblés par le projet à la Cité nationale de l’histoire de l’immigration.
