Il y a six festivals de cela, disparaissait André Benedetto, « l’intraitable, l’irréductible fraternel et insolent, franc-tireur », cet homme « qui comprenait quelque chose aux acteurs », dit Michel Bruzat. Benedetto laisse derrière lui le trouble de son absence, et au théâtre, le testament « de la présence et de l’attente ». L’histoire est celle de l’acteur en scène : « C’est l’histoire de l’acteur loup, de l’acteur fou. C’est mon histoire, l’histoire de l’acteur, d’un acteur simplement. Qui est loup qui est fou, hou-hou-hou », dit le tonitruant fondateur du Théâtre des Carmes. « Des écrivains comme lui sont des raretés, des idoles immobiles au milieu des tempêtes, navigateurs solitaires. Homme debout : c’est bien ainsi, que, toujours Benedetto fut. Benedetto, un géant d’humanité », dit Michel Bruzat, qui fait vivre les mots du poète dans la bouche et le corps de Yann Karaquillo, avec au cœur du jeu, la joie et la jouissance.
